Graduation Ball: Fashion and Makeup.

Hey everyone! On Friday I OFFICIALLY finished university for good! It’s been three long, hard years but I’ve finally completed my BA (Hons) Events Management degree so I can properly get into this blogging business and finally work full time as a model!

Last night was the graduation ball for the Hollings Facilty of MMU so there was people from a few different courses, all coming together for a brilliant event! (As assumed when we’re events students!). It was held at The Hilton in Deansgate, Manchester. I LOVE this hotel, I spent New Year’s Eve there not long ago and go for afternoon tea in Cloud23 which is up on the 23rd floor where you can sit and see out over Manchester whilst you sip champagne.

I decided to have my makeup done at the Chanel counter for a change, which was especially appealing as they were doing it for £10 instead of £45 for a limited time, then of course you receive this back off any purchase. (I will review my purchase in a separate post!)

I like quite a natural, warm look so I had a nice fresh skin base, with some bronze contouring and a dab of blush. I had a light bronze smokey eye and delicate liquid eyeliner on the top. The look was finished with a nude lip, lightly defined brow and a slick of black mascara. (I should just point out I’m not naked on this picture, as you’ll see from my next pictures!).

I really struggled to find a dress that I fell in love with, then I stumbled across one when I was just browsing Google…. The ‘Oman’ from Celebrity Boutique was just The One as soon as I saw it. It comes with a bit of a price tag – coming in at £119 but the quality is just superb.

My dress arrived beautifully packaged in a pink box tied with black elastic. Inside, white tissue was delicately folded around the garment and I just couldn’t wait to open it up!

It fit absoloutly beautifully (I got a size XS) and I could feel it sculpting my figure in particular places like around my waist. The fabric is thick and shiny and the dress it’s self was heavy, which to me is an indicator of quality with bodycon styles like this. It also has a thin rubber lining around the top which reacts with your skin texture to stop the dress from slipping.

I teamed my CB dress with my favourite nude Rhianna River Island heels and a nude clutch and kept my jewellery simple with a white Olivia Burton watch, gold Swarovski ring and Carat London gold bracelet. My hair was simple and slicked back to show off my makeup.

You can purchase this dress from House of CB  and I would say, it’s worth every penny!

The hospitality at The Hilton was wonderful as ever, and I had a great time celebrating with my friends and course mates, with the wine and prosseco flowing ! Congratulations to MMU Events Management Graduates.

A few snaps from the night!

Heel Envy.

They’re every woman’s best friend and worst enemy. They have us wobbling and stumbling like Bambi, but give us the elongated legs of a goddess. We may end a girls night out hobbling to the door from the pain of our 6 inch stillettos but it’s hard to deny how amazing you feel strutting in your favourite pair of heels.

I tend to be drawn to dainty strappy stillettos with a slim heel and they’re always neautral in colour! I find nude, blush and white are so flattering and match pretty much everything in my wardrobe. I tend to steer clear of black, in favour of lighter colours.

I recently stumbled accross a website that made me feel like all of my dreams had come true…. Jessica Buurman has one of the most amazing selections of shoes I think I’ve ever seen in one place. There’s such a huge range with an array of styles to suit every preference. What’s more – they’re offering 10% off to new customers and offer free worldwide delivery! I’m yet to place an order because there’s just too many to choose from… But the reviews are fantastic and the prices so reasonable, therefore I can’t wait!

Here’s a few of my Top Picks from the Jessica Buurman:

A twist on the classic nude courts. I love the cut out detailing on these.

This lace up style is so ‘Kimmy K’ and absolutely on trend this season. Everything is perfect about these from the colour to the cage detail and lace up front.   I adore this whimsical, girly design. They’re not something I’d usually wear but I would sit for hours just lusting after them, so pretty.

These are just ideal for me this season – snake print and lace up are two of my favourite styles   I love this edgy design and the Perspex detail and studded toes make these the perfect stand-out heel. Plus, who can say no to a red sole…. These are possibly my favourites as they give a nod towards my dream shoes – Louboutin Impera. The shape is the perfect blend of classic and modern, and the laser cut is delicately eye catching.

Christian Louboutin is easily the elite of all up-class shoe purveyors. The elegant curve and classic shapes are enough to make any shoe lover melt – add in a red sole and it’s instant shoe-heaven.

My Top Picks from Christian Louboutin:

The eptimome of luxury. These could dazzle from miles away.

These So Kate’s would match any outfit and add a touch of simplistic class.     These tan Pigalles are a wardrobe staple. They’d look so chic with a crisp white shirt and a pair of blue denim skinnies.   I adore the curvaceous silhouette and the sensual red of these scalloped beauties.   The ultimate for endlessly long legs: Lady Peep Patent.

The high street has some beautiful heels on offer that give everyone a chance to flaunt the designer look, on a high street budget.

My Top Pics from the high street:

Caged heels are one of my favourite designs this season and I love the gold detail on these River Island beauties.

I can’t decided which colour I like best! I love the sexy snake effect on these ones.   Zara never fails to amaze with their chic designs. I’m so glad fringe is back in – I had some sandals just like these when I was younger so this pair is so nostalgic to me.   Zara here gives us some thick strappy sandals that are so ideal for the summer.   I need these in my wardrobe. I wear a lot of white so these electric blue Zara lace ups would brighten up all of my outfits.   These Topshop heels are similar to a few of the others in this post, but I love the Grecian feel of these strappy sandals.   Super cute feather trim chunky strap sandals – thank you Topshop

Finishing off with some funky, mixed colour snake effect courts, again from Topshop – I LOVE.

I’m sure I’ve got you all wanting to go on a super mad shopping spree to stock your wardrobe with all of these designs and the millions of others available out there. The choices really are endless –  I know I could buy shoes each and every day.

Happy shopping!
