My New Years Resolutions

2016 has absolutely flown by for me. I’ve worked hard, had a beautiful new niece born, had a change in career goals, and generally worked hard on myself as a person. As I welcome the new year in tonight, I have a few thoughts of what I want for the next year ahead of me.

Fitness

I want to continue with my fitness and reach some personal goals. I want to be able to run further, build muscle all over and my main fitness goal is to get that longed for six pack! I’m looking forward to feeling good through food and exercise again after this Christmas’s blowout!

Tidyness

A bit of a funny one really but important all the same! I have always been very messy but after decorating my room the other month and throwing bags and bags full of stuff away, I’m keeping my bedroom perfectly immaculate and I want to continue that! Clear room, clear mind. I genuinely think it’s good for your mental well-being to be in beautiful surroundings and clothes all over the floor does not support this! So this year I’m going to continue to throw away/donate all of the stuff I don’t want or need and keep my possessions tidy and beautiful.

Yoga and flexibility

I suppose this comes under fitness but for me it’s different. Rather than being for aesthetics and health, I love yoga for my mind. That hour and a half every Thursday evening let’s me clear my mind and stretch my body and relax whilst my instructor helps us meditate and uses essential oils to massage the temples. Blisssssss. Also, my body has changed in flexibility so much from yoga – I’ve gone from not being able to touch my toes, to being able to perform some advanced moves. This year I want to make more time to practice yoga more, as I only do it once a week at the moment. I want to progress in strength and flexibility and master more poses in the process.

Work Life

This year I want to focus a lot of energy into my work life. I want to establish my business and not only continue my modelling career, but advance it further. I want to travel internationally at least once this year with modelling and continue to grab every opportunity and work with more amazing people like the ones I have this year.

Happiness

This year, I want to put my happiness first. Simple as that! There’s nothing in life that’s worth making yourself unhappy over and I’d love for every person reading this to take this resolution and make it their own. Don’t sweat the small stuff, if it won’t be on your mind in years to come, don’t let it be on your mind today. Everything works out in the end.

I hope everyone has a magical night tonight, whatever you’re doing. Cheers to the year ahead 2017 ❤ PS my new niece or nephew is expected to make an appearance within the next few days which is already due to be the highlight of my year ❤

Cloud Bread: Carb-Free Gluten-Free Bread Alternative!

Just yesterday I stumbled across what I thought must be ‘click bait’ when I saw a link on Facebook claiming there was a carb-free gluten-free bread alternative…

Upon opening the link, I discovered IT’S TRUE. Well, it appears to be anyway. So of course I MUST try it. I adore bread but my stomach doesn’t agree with the gluten so if I can pull this off I will be amazed! A quick scan of Pinterest bought up a range of pictures, and you’ll probably agree they look amazing with sweet or savoury versions!

I’ve decided to go with garlic and rosemary to season mine. They’re in the oven as I type and smell amazing so I hope they turn out well…. Whilst I wait, il give you a few facts I’ve found.

So, they’re carb and gluten free as I mentioned so great if like me, your stomach doesn’t really agree with gluten or you’re on a low carb diet. However, they do contain more fat due to the cream cheese (I’ll tell you the full ingredients further down) but fats aren’t the enemy so don’t be too concerned about this. Also, they lack fibre but that’s not a problem as long as your overall diet is balanced.

What you’ll need:

  • 4 eggs
  • 3tbspns cream cheese
  • Half tsp sweetener
  • 1tspn bicarbonate of soda
  • Any seasoning you wish (I used garlic powder and dried rosemary)

Simple as that.

Method:

  • Pre-heat oven to 140•
  • Line trays with parchment paper.
  • Separate egg whites and yolks and put in two separate bowls.
  • To the yolks, add the cream cheese, sweetener and bicarbonate and mix until smooth. (I also added the garlic powder)
  • Whisk the egg whites until they create stiff peaks.
  • Fold the yolk/cheese mixture into the whites gently.
  • Spoon the mixture into discs on the parchment paper lined trays.
  • Sprinkle with rosemary if desired.
  • Pop in the oven for 15 minutes, check, leave for longer if necessary until golden brown. (Mine took around 25 minutes)
  • Gently peel from the parchment paper and cool on a rack.

Ta daaaaa! I had been really sceptical but they turned out well. They have a slightly eggy taste to them and a soft inside. Try adding some chicken and rocket for a light version of a sandwich! Let me know in the comments if you have/do try this!

Graduation Ball: Fashion and Makeup.

Hey everyone! On Friday I OFFICIALLY finished university for good! It’s been three long, hard years but I’ve finally completed my BA (Hons) Events Management degree so I can properly get into this blogging business and finally work full time as a model!

Last night was the graduation ball for the Hollings Facilty of MMU so there was people from a few different courses, all coming together for a brilliant event! (As assumed when we’re events students!). It was held at The Hilton in Deansgate, Manchester. I LOVE this hotel, I spent New Year’s Eve there not long ago and go for afternoon tea in Cloud23 which is up on the 23rd floor where you can sit and see out over Manchester whilst you sip champagne.

I decided to have my makeup done at the Chanel counter for a change, which was especially appealing as they were doing it for £10 instead of £45 for a limited time, then of course you receive this back off any purchase. (I will review my purchase in a separate post!)

I like quite a natural, warm look so I had a nice fresh skin base, with some bronze contouring and a dab of blush. I had a light bronze smokey eye and delicate liquid eyeliner on the top. The look was finished with a nude lip, lightly defined brow and a slick of black mascara. (I should just point out I’m not naked on this picture, as you’ll see from my next pictures!).

I really struggled to find a dress that I fell in love with, then I stumbled across one when I was just browsing Google…. The ‘Oman’ from Celebrity Boutique was just The One as soon as I saw it. It comes with a bit of a price tag – coming in at £119 but the quality is just superb.

My dress arrived beautifully packaged in a pink box tied with black elastic. Inside, white tissue was delicately folded around the garment and I just couldn’t wait to open it up!

It fit absoloutly beautifully (I got a size XS) and I could feel it sculpting my figure in particular places like around my waist. The fabric is thick and shiny and the dress it’s self was heavy, which to me is an indicator of quality with bodycon styles like this. It also has a thin rubber lining around the top which reacts with your skin texture to stop the dress from slipping.

I teamed my CB dress with my favourite nude Rhianna River Island heels and a nude clutch and kept my jewellery simple with a white Olivia Burton watch, gold Swarovski ring and Carat London gold bracelet. My hair was simple and slicked back to show off my makeup.

You can purchase this dress from House of CB  and I would say, it’s worth every penny!

The hospitality at The Hilton was wonderful as ever, and I had a great time celebrating with my friends and course mates, with the wine and prosseco flowing ! Congratulations to MMU Events Management Graduates.

A few snaps from the night!
