Makeup Styling For The Protein Bakery Press Shoot

Hi everyone!

I just sat down with a big mug of tea to update my blog with what I’m up to. I sometimes struggle to sit back and find the time to reflect on my going’s-on and share them but it’s important, especially as I’d love to look back in the future and see how far I’ve progressed.

Today I worked on an exciting project with The Protein Bakery which was organised by Ledigo PR. We had a great team, with @hairbysophie _m on the hair, @jadekaty and @southweather84 on photography and myself creating the makeup look. Then model for the day was the director of The Protein Bakery, Laura Jackson. She thought up the concept in her own kitchen and is now set to sell her products in January 2018, launching in supermarkets and major online companies.

A little bit about the company…

So, how many of you get cravings on a regular basis for cakes, cookies, donuts etc? Especially when you’re on a diet! The Protein Bakery has created a new concept of protein fortified goodies to curb cravings for real (a bog standard protein bar just doesn’t cut it) whilst remaining clean and adding to your daily protein intake. I have sampled the range and I have to say they genuinely taste like your normal baked goods – the Salted Caramel Cookie is unreal! They don’t have that protein after taste that you get with so many protein products.

What I really love about the range is that it appeals to so many people. So many people can feel intimidated by the fitness and protein industry and feel that maybe the usual protein bars and shakes etc we see in stores are aimed at uber-toned, fitness addicts. That’s where The Protein Bakery is different and appeals to EVERYONE whether you’re sculpting your six pack or simply trying to make healthier choices.

Back to the makeup…

We wanted a ‘Nigella’ feel to the look so we kept it all matte and neutrals. I used YSL foundation and brown and nude eyeshadows from Kiko Milano. The brows were filled with light strokes of MAC Spike and brushed with a clear brow gel for a soft, ‘barely done’ look. I didn’t use any contouring or highlighting for this look as I really wanted it to remain fresh and simple, so I simply defined the cheek bones and lifted the skin tone using Dior blusher. The look was finished with some light strip-lashes, Charlotte Tilbury lipstick in Penelope Pink and set with Sport FX setting spray. The final look was girly and soft and perfect for the day time but with that extra glam!

Keep an eye out on The Protein Bakery’s Instagram to be the first to get your hands on the products and the chance to win some competitions they have coming up!

Lounge Underwear

IMG_7255IMG_7256IMG_7257IMG_7258IMG_7259IMG_7260IMG_7261IMG_7262Hey everyone,

If you follow me on Instagram, you’ll probably know by now that I absolutely LOVE Lounge Underwear. It must be a couple of years ago now that I first saw them on Instagram and fell in love at first site with their original triangle bra and panty set with a thick branded band. They’ve come on so much since then and now include leggings and sports bra’s, a wide range of colours and shapes and the most beautiful intimate sets.

I was over the moon when I was asked to become an ambassador for them (I must add that this post is NOT sponsored or paid in any way, I just genuinely want to share my love for the brand). I’ve been lucky enough to be sent lots of goodies from them and they’ve become a staple in my wardrobe.

The original sets are so comfortable for daily wear but you still feel stylish, sexy and cool. There’s so many colour ways – Khaki, grey, red, white, pink – just to name a few! There’s different shapes and fabrics – the Lace ones are so beautiful! There really is something for everyone.

The latest edition from Lounge is their ‘intimates’ Range. I’ve been so lucky to be sent the Isabella set – a beautifully delicate bra, panties and suspended belt complete with their stunning rose gold tab for that little extra luxury.

I genuinely believe in this brand – that’s why I’m so proud to be one of their ambassadors. The quality is always spot on and there’s such a huge range of carefully designed products that they can please every customer. Just a quick look at their Instagram @LoungeUnderwear shows that they’re loved by everyone of all different shapes and sizes!

Check them out Lounge Underwear ❤

Photographers include: Tom Parnell, Matthew Comer, Yolanda Kingdon, Stacey Clarke, Charles Wosu, Chloe-Ann Charnock, Owen Jones, Sean Goldthorpe, Hannah Furness.

Clean PB/White Choc ‘Cookie-Dough’ Bites.

Good afternoon!

Scrolling through instagram, it’s easy to see that a lot of people on a health kick sacrifice taste in order to get their dream bod. Plain chicken, bland rice and some soggy broccoli is all good and nutritious, but how sustainable is a diet where you don’t have any enjoyment from what you’re eating?

I find people struggle with snacking healthily. Too much fruit and you’ll be over your sugar levels, rice cakes are bland and not especially nutritious, shop-bought bars can contain all sorts of nasties and calories…. This leads to snackers breaking their diet and reaching for sugary, processed junk.

In comes my clean PB/White choc cookie dough bites….. The guilt free way to curb sweet cravings and snack without breaking the diet. What’s even better is that you can add all sorts into the recipe to make it your own!

What you’ll need:

  • Scottish Oats
  • Agave nectar/honey/alternative
  • No Added Sugar/Palm Oil free peanut butter
  • White chocolate chips
  • Almond milk (or alternative)

You’ll notice I’ve not added amounts onto the ingredients list. The reason behind this is that it’s really personal choice, so just play around and see how you get on.

  1. Blend oats in a nutribullet or blender until they’re a fine powder/flour.
  2. Add peanut putter (I used around half a tub) a few squeezes of agave nectar (depending on how sweet you like them!)
  3. Slowly add small amounts of almond milk and mix until the texture is that of cookie dough.
  4. Add white chocolate chips or get creative with dried fruits, coconut flakes, dark chocolate etc. You could also add flavour drops or spices like cinnamon and nutmeg.
  5. You’ll now need to shape your cookie dough. This can be done in balls or flattened out like I did. Lay on grease proof paper.
  6. Leave at room temperature or chill if preferred.
  7. Enjoy!
