Watermans Shampoo and Conditioner.

*Although these products were gifted, all opinions are my own*

Hey everyone! I’ve been really quiet posting at the moment, I really need to get back into it because I have so many lovely things to post about – but I’ve just been so busy!

I’ve been working tones recently, along with some other little projects I’m working on. Also, I’m decorating my bedroom this weekend AND on Tuesday I’m starting my makeup course which I’m extremellllllly excited about! So you can all expect a lot of makeup posts coming your way. If there’s any particular products you’d like me to review or looks you’d like me to post, just drop me a comment on here or send me an Instagram message.

So, back to the post. I was recently sent a package from Waterman’s of this shampoo and conditioner. It claims to stimulate hair growth and offer thicker, long, healthier hair. I have a lottttt of hair so it does need good products to keep it nice, especially since I bleach it. Also, I only wash my hair every 2-3 days if I can, so I need a shampoo that really gives that clean feeling.

My Verdict

The shampoo has a subtle menthol hint to it, which made my scalp gently tingle. I love this because it feels so fresh and clean. The instructions say to massage in for a couple of minutes and thankfully it’s so foamy and luxurious because there’s nothing worse than rubbing in a thin, watery shampoo. This lathers up beautifully.

Onto the Conditioner, it’s not mega thick and creamy to begin with but you’d be surprised how fast your hair starts to feel silky soft as you massage it in. It felt like a deep treatment but it can actually be used every single wash so I LOVE that. My hair sucks up so much moisture so it’s ideal for me.

My hair felt lovely and soft and clean after the first wash but I wanted to use the whole lot before I did my review, so I can let you know if I actually saw a difference in the health and thickness. It’s been about 3-4 weeks and I actually still have some left, so that proves how long it lasts when you have as much hair as me!

In terms of how it’s changed my hair, my locks genuinely feel thicker and healthier. Before I used it, I thought maybe if it felt thicker it would be due to a build-up – however I’m certain it’s not that because my hair feels so clean and smooth. A number of hairdressers at shoots have commented on how healthy and luscious my hair is – that’s proof enough for me.

I will be using Watermans always now! It truly is one of the best shampoo and conditioner brands I’ve used.

Thanks Watermans! #LoveWatermans @WatermansHairProducts watermanshair.com

Billion Dollar Smile – Review

It’s so important as a model to have a gleaming smile but it can be so hard to achieve.

The lovely people over at Billion Dollar Smile were so kind as to send me over one of their teeth whitening kits with an LED light and tray and 3 syringes of solution to brighten up my teeth.

I’m really into keeping my teeth nice and always brush 2-3 times a day, use mouth wash and regularly floss. Usually I’d just use coconut oil to whiten my teeth but sometimes they need an extra little push to really get them gleaming.

The first time I used the kit, I was really pleased with how easy it was to use! All you have to do is apply half a syringe of solution into the mould, pop it in and switch it on! Simple. I use it when I get ready in the morning because I can even apply my makeup with it in.

Whitening products I’ve used in the past have hurt my gums and/or left me with sensitive teeth but the non peroxide gel hasn’t given me any irritation or pain whatsoever. I was actually really surprised when I rinsed my teeth and could see visible results after the first application!

I will confess I’ve not used it as directed – once a day for 6 days – because I’ve not always found the time or I’ve forgotten. But I’ve actually still seen impressive results – so imagine using the course all in one go!

I’ll definitely be using Billion Dollar Smile as a safe and effective go-to product when my teeth need brightening back up again.

High Street / High End Dupe.

Hey guys!

I’ve just returned last night from a wonderful break in Tenerife with my boyfriend and a crew of 10 for his dad’s 60th birthday. We were so lucky to be taken away for a bit of sunshine and had the best time sunbathing, eating, drinking wine and swimming in the sea.

I’ve come back with a great tan so now my focus is to stop ANY peeling (like i usually get!) so I’m hydrating my skin non-stop. I’m going to do another post on how I’m hydrating my skin post-holiday but I just had to let everyone know about a dupe I stumbled across accidentally.

So, I was shopping in Superdrug for a hair mask and face mask (this will be included in the next post also!) and at the till there was an offer for a Dove Shower Oil for £2 instead of £4.48. Not a huge saving but I just thought it sounded nice with Argan oil and was an extra way to add moisture into my skin, so for that price I just had to try it!

I’ve always been a fan of L’occitane Shower Oil and was hoping it would be similar but didn’t have high expectations for a £2 product compared to one that’s £15-£20. Let me tell you, I was so pleasantly surprised!

Okay so I’ll start with a minor negative – the bottle is extremely naive! Is it a shower wash? Is it to mix with shower wash? Is it a moisturiser for after the shower? I figured it’s to be used as a wash since it mentions cleansing the skin so that’s what I did. I couldn’t believe it when it started to lather up upon contact with wet skin.

I’m lay in bed now with beautiful soft skin with absolutely no oil or stickiness. You can pick some up in your local Superdrug store or online Here or treat yourself to the L’occitane version Here.

Sensationail – Gel Polish At Home.

As you may know, it was my 22nd birthday the other day, and my sisters so kindly bought me the Sensationail kit, with a UV Lamp, primer, base and top coat, gel cleanser, a cute baby pink colour and all the little accessories.

I have acrylic nails so it’s ideal for me, because I can chop and change my colour between Infills, and I’m saving half the price at the salon because I can apply my own colour!

I’ve already purchased White Lily and Juicy Sangria to add to my collection. I really love it, it’s absolutely salon quality. I used my sisters when I went to Marbella and my toe polish lasted perfectly for 3 weeks with no chips – I only had to remove it because it grew out!

The best part is, today you can purchase packs of 6 colours for just £14.99 – they’re usually this much each from Boots! So if you’re a Sensationail fan or you plan on buying the kit, you need to go to Groupon and get yourself this deal!

Jane Iredale Glow Time Full-Coverage BB Cream Review.

I’ve recently been sent the Jane Iredale BB Cream to test and review, and have used it for the past few weeks to reveal the most honest and clear review of how I found the product. (All opinions are my own, this is an honest review of the product).

I apply the BB cream first with my MAC foundation brush, then I continue to blend it with the Real Techniques beauty blender. My first thought when I started to apply was HOW AMAZING the coverage is for a BB cream. I’d compare this with MAC studio fix for coverage. The BB creams I usually use have quite a light coverage and aren’t really suitable for me on a daily basis. This however really does have a truly heavy coverage whilst still feeling light on the skin.

At first, I wasn’t sure the shade was right for me (BB6) as it seemed quite yellow but as it blended in, I realised it was ideal for me and totally brightened up my complexion. I always go for yellow tones on my skin rather than pinks/beige.

I have reasonably dry skin so a lot of foundations are a no-no for me because they can create dry lines and visible pores. That’s why I’m so happy to have found a hydrating mineral BB cream that allows me to wear a full-coverage look without the negative side effects!

To put this BB cream to the test, I’ve worn it for a few different daily activities to see how it fairs.

1: A Day At Work – as you may know, I’m a full-time model so when I’m working I don’t tend to wear my own makeup. However, I do occasionally cover at my parents business which is a children’s day-nursery. I wore this BB cream for the full day to see how it stayed on for a 9-6 shift. The coverage stayed neat, however it had gotten a little patchy on my nose by lunch time and my T-Zone was a little oily. I think this is because it’s so hydrating so I don’t really mind because it’s sort of one or the other for me. I’d rather a quick dab with my beauty blender than the dryness.

2: A Work-Out – yep, I’m one of those girls who likes a bit of natural makeup on in the gym. I’m not talking eyeliner and contour etc, just a dab of BB Cream and a slick of mascara. And nope, it doesn’t make me work any less harder and nope it (generally) doesn’t end up a patchy mess on my face (have you never heard of setting spray?). So, I’ve been wearing the BB cream for the gym and even after a sweaty, intense workout with my trainer, my face stays pretty much perfect still. 10/10 for a workout foundation because it’s mineral based and won’t clog your pores like a normal foundation!

3: In The Pool and Sauna – okay this one was more for the blog post, but I did keep it on for a relax in the pool and sauna post-workout. Obviously my face gets wet in this process so it was interesting to come out of the pool and see that although the coverage had massively decreased, it was all even and my face wasn’t patchy at all!

4: On Holiday – I never use regular Suncream on my face on holiday because it just clogs it up so much. Plus I avoid sun on my face so it always ends up much more pale than my body so I like a light coverage with an SPF. I used this BB cream in Marbella (where everyone is glam so makeup is a must during the day!) and with its SPF 25, it did the job perfectly.

So, all in all it has been a fantastic product, one that I’ve recommended to all of my friends who’ve gone out and bought it and love it as much as I do! It’s definitely my go-to product now and it’s a total staple in my makeup bag. I was also sent their blusher and lip balm which I use all the time also. The 3 together just create the most lovely, soft makeup look with the delicate pinks and gorgeous textures.

Let me know how you get on! Hels X

Joico Shampoo and Conditioner Review.

Every girl experiences that parched hair feeling at some point in their life. Unfortunately for us blondes, this can be quite frequently!

Since beggining the Olaplex treatments my hair has felt better (I can tell when it needs doing again though!) but I still find my hair can feel so dry and rough sometimes and even soaking it in oils doesn’t always restore the silkiness and shine.

One of the perks of your hairdresser being your best friend is that you can always call upon them for hair tips and discounted hair products! So, my girl Amy at The Edge in Cheshire purchased me some salon-quality shampoo and conditioner from the wholesalers to try and restore some shine to my lacklustre locks.

In struts Joico K-Pak. The gold bottle immediately makes you think of luxurious flowing blonde locks, so that’s a good start. I was already excited about these products as Amy used them on me in the salon and I know she only uses the best. I’ve been using them for about a week now and I can feel the difference already.

The shampoo is clarifying, which means it removed the product build-up from your hair if you leave it on for a minute or so. This is especially good for me when I’m home from a shoot where my hair has been coated in anything from hairspray to baby oil to glitter. However, a clarifying shampoo is beneficial to anyone since our hair picks up so much dirt and oils naturally through the day and many of us add oils, heat defence products etc to our hair routines.

The conditioner is repairing for damaged hair. Even if you think your hair is in great condition, it’s actually getting damaged each day so a repairing, nourishing formula is ideal for all hair types. For extra protection is replenishment, I’d highly recommend the Olaplex treatment which I’ve discussed in a previous post!

All in all, I’m really liking both the shampoo and the conditioner and I feel my hair is clean and fresh whilst remaining softer and silkier.

The cheapest I’ve found online is £11.70 at AllBeauty for the conditioner and £10.95 for the shampoo also at AllBeauty

Bargain Buys: Get The Best For Your Money.

Like many girls, there’s an endless list of things I want (need). Literally, it’s never ending because as soon as I get my hands on something, I see the next thing for my wish list. I know most girls are the same so I’ve compiled a few bargains I’ve seen recently so you can reep the benefits too. I’ll continue with these posts if you guys like them so make sure you let me know via the comments/insta/twitter.

Glamour Magazine

You can get some AMAZING free gifts in magazines every so often and I find Glamour does the best! Last month it was a tube of a new St Tropez tan and this month there’s a range of Model Co makeup! They’ve worked with Model Co previously and I remember getting a lip liner I LOVED but then begrudged paying £16 for another when it ran out as I knew how cheap I had it previously. So you can imagine my excitement when I saw it in this months issue for only ONE POUND. Obviously I bought two. Also there’s an eyeliner, mascara and lipgloss available worth a combined £55. I’m now on the hunt to find the gloss! Always check out the magazine freebies when you’re at the supermarket or newsagents. Primark

I’m sure you already know the bargain store that is Primark. But did you know they’ve bought out a small range of Perspex beauty organisers? You know the ones that are everywhereeeee on Instagram and allow you to show off all your designer makeup? I needed a new one for my ever expanding MAC lipstick collection and was so happy to see this bargain one for £2 when id usually expect to pay between £15-£60 (depending on size).

The top left holder is the Primark one, that’s holding the foundations, lip liners and 6 lipsticks.

Also from Primark, these cute little bikinis that cost me something ridiculous like £2 or £3 and were perfect for lazy days on the beach when you don’t need to dress up too much! How can you argue for that price?

Zara Sale

I wasn’t even aware of this until I went into my agency and all of the bookers had huge boxes delivered! Head to the Zara website and there’s TONES of stuff in the sale. Grab yourself a bargain!

Spotify Premium

I’m new to Spotify so recently took advantage of their free week trial of Premium. I was pleasantly surprised by their offer of another 3 months for just 0.99p – how could I refuse that? This offer is on until June 30th so if you’re new to Spotify also, take advantage of this amazing offer! Have you spotted any more bargains, freebies or money saving tips? Share them with me in the comments or via Twitter/Instagram!

Mini Drugstore Makeup Haul

I will be the first to admit, I can be a bit of a makeup snob! I’m absolutely aware that there’s some amazing dupes, but I don’t get the same buzz from a Superdrug or Boots bag, that I do a Selfridges or Chanel one (don’t try and lie and say you do). That being said, I do like to dabble with some high street/drugstore brands for those non-necessity items or ones that I won’t be using on a daily basis. We all love a bargain.

I took a wander into town today and stopped by the 3 for 2 offer in Superdrug. There was a couple of basic things I needed but as always, I spent ages browsing allllll of the makeup. I’m always drawn to the MUA stand, they seem to always be up to date with the latest beauty hypes and they’re popping up on blogs all over the place. Not to mention it’s incredibly cheap!

I decided to try out their radiance under eye concealer as soon as I’ve bought it home. It doesn’t leave fine line creases like a lot of concealers I’ve tried which is good, however I hadn’t realised there’s a light shimmer to it. So I will see how I get on with it properly over the next few days! I’m not too worried at just £2.99. Also from MUA, an eyeshadow called ‘Golden’. I’m always a fan of warm colours on the face with golds and bronzes being my favourite so I thought I may as well test it out for the this summer at only £1!

I needed a clear mascara for my brows after being constantly told by my brow queen Ella that I need to push them up with it each day. I’m on a quest for absolute super model brows, so I’ve been brushing them up constantly but this will just help them stay in place a little longer. Since the quality wasn’t really important for this, I just went for the £2.99 Miss Sporty clear mascara.

Next up, Maybelline New York – Master Ink in satin. This is a black liquid eyeliner. There was the choice between Matte and Satin and I had no clue if I’m honest but I went for Satin anyway which came in at £4.99. Also from Maybelline, the Baby Lips Dr Rescue in Coral Crave. I like to pop on some lip balm whilst I do my makeup in the morning and throughout the day, there’s nothing worse than flakey lips! I’ve had a Baby Lips already but it was a little too pink, this is pretty much clear and has a light tingling sensation!

Finally, the Real Techniques – Miracle Complexion Sponge. I’ve wanted one for a while but actually been using some I got from Primark which I do love! It’ll be interesting to test the two against each other. I will do this in another blog post to test whether price really does mean quality!

Today I had a lovely delivery of the Real Techniques Bold Metals which I’ve wanted for ages! A powder brush, blush brush and eye brush which also will be making an appearance on the blog, since they’re too pretty to miss!

What are your favourite drug store products or what high-end products could you simply not substitute?
